Zoey is of the Cherokee heritage. She has long black hair that falls to her mid-back and she has tanned skin. She isnt as dark as her mother or grandmother because her father was British. Her beautiful bambi eyes are a dark chocolate brown. Her smile could make your heart melt. She is so innocent and sweet.
She likes to keep her style very simple and comfortable, she would pick a pair of old jeans and a hoodie over a dress and heals any day. She is a beutiful girl but she doesn't let it get to her head. She takes pride in her apperance but not so much that she takes it for advantage.

Zoey Redbird had a fairly normal life. She was a high school Junior and was going out with the most popular guy in school, Heath. She wasn’t the most popular girl around but she was well known. Her best friend Kayla and Zoey went way back to elementary school days. She lived with her mother and Step-father. Her father left them when she was young and the only time they hear from him is the random child support letters her mother gets from him. These weren’t normal times though. Things happened that people couldn’t stop. Kids would get marked. Now it may sound like a new sort of drug or something but the truth is it when the Goddess Nyx chooses a human to become a vampire. Yes you got it, a vampire. It was a normal day for any junior. Zoey got up, got her school bag, fought with her step-loser, and went to school. Until she got to school and found someone waiting for her at her locker, she had never seen him before. The next thing she knew she had a funny mark on her forehead. It was a blue crescent moon smack dab on her forehead. Kayla started freaking when she saw it, just like everyone else. Except Heath, he was the only one not freaking out. Her step-loser, who was the senior pastor at the town church, said she was going to hell. Great support.
Zoey didn’t know what to do! She got so tired of her mom and step-dad trying to rid her of demons, so she packed up her stuff and headed for her grandma’s house. Zoey loves her grandmother with all her heart. Zoey’s grandmother is First Nations and she taught Zoey all about the spirits and rituals. Zoey wished her grandmother could have been her mother. Her grandmother lives on a ranch; she grows spices and lavender plants. Zoey loves it there because she actually feels at home. Zoey has never felt she really belonged anywhere. When she got to her grandmothers house she didn’t find her in the house so she went to go out back to find her. When she was out back she tripped in a root and hit her head. When she opened her eyes she found she was in a cave, and at the other end was a lady. Not just nay lady, the most beautiful lady she had ever seen. When she spoke to Zoey it was like a song from her soul. Zoey discovered that the lady was the Goddess Nyx. She told Zoey that she has given her a gift and has a plan for Zoey. That was when Zoey woke up and found herself in what looked like a hospital. She looked to her side and saw her grandmother holding onto her hand. And there was another woman to her other side, she was also very lovely. Her name was Neferet. She is the high priestess of the House Of Night. The school for vampires. And there were something’s that happened to vampire fledglings. During the change process some fledglings don’t make it and they die. It sounds pretty harsh, but the adult vampires expect the fledgling to just go on and forget it. But it isn’t that easy, because you never know when someone will keel over and die.
Neferet said she would take Zoey and be her mentor, to help her with whatever she can. Zoey was introduced to her roommate Stevie Rae. Who in turn introduced her to her friends, and Zoey slowly found herself settling in to her new home. Until she saw something in the hall way she wishes she could forget. While Neferet was showing Zoey around she had to go help someone and told Zoey to meet her in the courtyard. Well on the way Zoey saw something. A boy and a girl. The boy was up against the wall, he was the most beautiful boy Zoey had ever seen. The girl was very pretty too. Until Zoey noticed she was on her knees. Zoey wanted to turn away but Zoey couldn’t move. The girl on her knees accidentally cut the boys thigh with her nails and Zoey saw some red liquid spill onto his jeans. The smell hit Zoey first, the smell of his blood. It was if Zoey had not control over herself and she took a step forwards out of the shadows. Then the boy looked her way. She then was able to feel her legs and took off running in the opposite direction. She was shaken up not only seeing a girl try and give a guy a blow-job. But she didn’t know why she was so drawn to his blood. Zoey shook it off until the next day when the boy came to visit her drama class. His name is Erik Night. And he was the most popular guy in the House of Night. She later discovered the Girls name was Aphrodite. She is the leader of the Dark Daughters, the somewhat secret club for students at the House of Night. Erik she found out later was Aphrodite’s ex, and also a Dark Son.
